Milwaukee Pro Soccer Branding Project

Milwaukee Pro Soccer has secured the rights to a USL Championship franchise and plans to bring outdoor professional soccer back to Milwaukee starting in 2025. Milwaukee Pro Soccer will play at the Iron District MKE, a new sports and entertainment district in the Westown neighborhood of Milwaukee.

The Iron District will feature an 8,000-seat soccer-specific stadium, a 200 key hotel, 170 multi-family housing units, retail and food and beverage.

MPS has undertaken a collaborative, community name the team contest receiving nearly 5,000 submissions for the name of the team and more than 100,000 votes from the community on preferred names. MPS believes strongly that this is the community’s team to name and plans to engage and involve the community in every step of the naming and branding process.

What

Milwaukee Pro Soccer is looking for a creative agency to develop the identity and crest for Milwaukee’s Pro Soccer team. This is not a full-service project, but rather the development of the team’s logo, wordmarks and crest.

The agency will be responsible for developing 4 brand storyboards that tell a visual story of how the brand will come alive in different applications, from kit usage, stadium branding, and merchandise, to the story behind it that honors both the legacy and future of Milwaukee.

Who

The agency must have a direct connection to the City of Milwaukee.

Qualifications

Previous sports experience is not required. However, the agency must demonstrate a proven ability to capture the legacy and essence of the city of Milwaukee and its culture in ways that push the creative bounds of what is traditionally seen in domestic soccer branding.

The agency should have experience collaborating with the community and business owners to develop unique identities that are truly reflective of the community.
